Ping Pong Tournament

On September 10, a gym hall of the Kolos Cultural Center in the Uyskoe settlement hosted an amateur Strukov Cup ping pong competition named after Konstantin Strukov, Deputy Chairperson of the Legislative Assembly of the Chelyabinsk region, President of OAO MC UGC.

The event attracted over 50 athletes in different age groups from Plast, Verkhneuralsk, Chesmy, Nagaybak, Uyskoe settlement, Magnitogorsk and Chebarkul. A large delegation came from neighboring Bashkiria.

In his welcome speech, the Head of the Uysky district Veniamin Vladelshchikov gave the competitors an insight into local sports activities and future plans and wished everyone success.

This year, the amateurs have played a fascinating game. Vladimir Zarubin, a 75 y. o. contestant from Magnitogorsk, kept up with the younger players demonstrating outstanding defensive skills. A 10 y. o. sportsman Azat Umurzakov was also quite self-confident. Rafael Kambekov acted as a referee.

Over 100 games were played during this intense 5-hour tournament. According to the total score, the Strukov Cup stayed home and was given to the team representing the Uysky district, Pavel Smirnov, Dmitry Chumakov, Vladimir Gaas and Eduard Zhulamanov. The teams from Magnitogorsk and Plast took the second and third place, respectively.
